This is a unique opportunity to combine technical accounting expertise with legal entity ownership and cross-border stakeholder management. You will play a key role in regulatory and statutory reporting, support the Group consolidation process, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of finance processes within Vontobel’s SAP S/4HANA environment.
What would your role be?
- Act as the Legal Entity Accountant for Bank Vontobel AG, specifically responsible for the new Branch in Milan, ensuring end-to-end ownership of the accounting and financial reporting processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely accounting for Vontobel Group IFRS and Bank Vontobel Swiss GAAP purposes for all relevant business transactions and deliver complete monthly, semi-annual and annual financial close activities.
- Drive continuous improvements of accounting processes, internal controls and data quality while ensuring compliance with IFRS, Group Accounting Policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the preparation of statutory local financial statements and local regulatory accounting deliverables for the Branch in collaboration with external Italian accounting service providers.
- Perform, review and monitor accounting activities in SAP S/4HANA, ensuring the correct accounting treatment of branch, intercompany and legal entity transactions.
- Support the Group consolidation process by preparing reporting packages, reconciliations and other consolidation-related deliverables for both entities.
What are we looking for?
- Higher education in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, or a commercial apprenticeship with further qualifications in accounting (e.g. Swiss Federal Diploma in Finance and Accounting, Certified Fiduciary)
- 5-10 years of accounting experience within the banking or financial services industry with comprehensive knowledge of accounting and financial close processes.
- Proven experience acting as a Legal Entity Accountant with end-to-end responsibility for monthly, semi-annual and annual financial reporting. Experience with managing the Accounting for a Branch is a plus.
- Good practical experience with SAP, ideally SAP S/4HANA, including general ledger accounting, financial close and legal entity accounting processes.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills with a proactive, structured and hands-on approach, capable of operating independently in an international and cross-functional environment.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German & Italian is considered an advantage.
