Mainframe Application Support & Automation Analyst

We are seeking a motivated Mainframe Application Support & Automation Analyst to support critical life insurance policy administration platforms and help drive operational improvements through automation, data quality controls, and proactive problem resolution.

This role is ideal for someone with mainframe application support experience who is looking to grow their technical expertise while contributing to initiatives that improve system stability, reduce manual effort, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain core life insurance administration platforms, including:
  • CyberLife
  • Vantage
  • P1E
  • Horizon
  • LifePro
• Monitor application performance and resolve production support issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual intervention.
• Assist with implementing controls and validations to prevent bad data from entering critical business processes.
• Analyze recurring incidents and contribute to root cause analysis and long-term solutions.
• Support batch processing, job scheduling, and application monitoring activities.
• Collaborate with business partners, operations teams, developers, and vendors to resolve issues and improve application reliability.
• Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and support runbooks.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on operational excellence and system stability.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting Mainframe applications.
• Experience with one or more of the following policy administration platforms:
  • CyberLife
  • Vantage
  • P1E
  • Horizon
  • LifePro
• Working knowledge of:
  • COBOL
  • JCL
  • DB2
  • VSAM
  • CICS
  • Batch processing environments
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and supporting business-critical applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automation tools, scripting, or workflow orchestration solutions.
• Exposure to Service Management processes such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Understanding of data quality controls and operational monitoring.
• Insurance, annuity, or financial services industry experience.
• Familiarity with enterprise scheduling and monitoring tools.
