Job Summary

We're looking for a Business Development Executive to drive business growth within our Affluent Banking business. You’ll play a key role in acquiring new clients, strengthening relationships, and delivering personal financial advice. Your day-to-day will involve planning strategies to meet sales targets, sharing market insights, and supporting promotional activities such as campaigns and seminars. You’ll also ensure smooth after-sales service and identify opportunities to cross-sell relevant products.

About our Wealth and Retail Banking business 

Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) serves more than 13 million individuals and small businesses, with a focus on the affluent segment including Private Banking, Priority Private, Priority Banking, and Premium. In the mass retail space, we're focused on emerging affluent clients who will progress in their wealth journey with us and form the pipeline of future affluent clients.

Our comprehensive product offerings span across deposits, payments, financing, advisory, investments and bancassurance. 

 
We’re investing USD $1.5 billion in our Affluent banking business. Our investment focuses on affluent frontline teams, wealth and digital platforms, and client centres, as well as brand and marketing, to drive growth. You’ll join a growing franchise within the Standard Chartered Group. 
 

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in sales promotions and activities to achieve/exceed defined sales targets;
• Engage NTB Affluent clients via leads sourced from varies channels;
• A well thought-through, creative approach to satisfy customers, improve competitive advantage and improve performance;
• Actively cross-sell the bank other products / services and ensure annual financial budget is met;
• To provide quality, efficient before and after sales services;
• To prepare and consolidate accurate reports on sales activities;
• Based on a “shared sense” of purpose and approach within CB;
• Based on a clear division of roles (and no duplication of effort) within MD;
• Accountable for implementing and complying with AML requirements when performing duties;
• Understand, acknowledge and comply with the requirements onindividual accountabilities and responsibilities of the job set out in applicable local laws and regulations as well as SCB internal policies;
• Effectively ensure and intensify internal controls by keeping abreast with developments of applicable local laws and regulations on accountabilities;
• Perform job duties with diligence, contribute to efforts as an individual or as a team member so as to avoid any actual or potential legal sanctions, regulatory penalties, material financial loss, or adverse reputational impact on the Bank;
• Be responsible for failure to follow relevant rules and processes, failure to properly perform the responsibilities, and implement corrections;
• Cooperate with any investigations or reviews on regulatory failure such as accountability review. 

Skills and Experience

• Strong competencies in client acquisition and sophisticated account management, particularly with High Net Worth (HNW) individuals. 
• Expertise in region-specific languages and established local networks (highly valued).  
• Technical knowledge of consumer banking products (Treasury, Equities, Funds, and Insurance).  
• A university degree is preferred.  
• Relevant experience in customer service or sales is an advantage; however, applications from fresh graduates who possess the required skills and qualifications will also be considered.  

Qualifications

Selection Criteria: 
• Bachelor degree or above; 
• 1 year working experience or above in financial or mortgage / real estate Industry is preferred.
• Relevant experience in banking experience is preferred
• Good knowledge of bank products, policies, and business strategy 
• Good credit appraisal and marketing skills with the ability to interpret financial information
• Strong personal integrity with zero disciplinary record in any previous job  
• Good communication and presentation skills 
• Presentable, good personality with good business etiquette
