As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline.Professional Services are seeking a highly skilled individual with strong experience across modern enterprise database technologies, including deep hands-on expertise on a selection of database technologies including PostgreSQL, Oracle, Oracle Exadata, CockroachDB, MySQL, MSSQL and enterprise database administration practices. Experience with Oracle GoldenGate is highly desirable, particularly for replication, migration, high availability, and cross-platform data integration use cases. The role primarily supports applications deployed in Gaia Cloud and AWS Cloud environments, with experience in Azure, GCP, and OCI also considered.
Job responsibilities
- Understand the firm’s database infrastructure environment and technology modernization roadmap.
- Partner with application teams to plan and execute database migrations.
- Migrate workloads to the latest database products and versions on private cloud or public cloud platforms.
- Provide post-migration expertise to maximize application workload performance and resiliency.
- Monitor database performance to ensure stable, efficient operations.
- Optimize capacity and scalability to meet current and future demand.
- Identify and deliver automation solutions to run performance/capacity requirements more efficiently.
- Collaborate with developers to refine database schemas, optimize queries, and improve application performance.
- Support 24/7 availability and reliability for mission-critical systems through proactive analysis, enhancements, and after-hours/weekend release deployments, maintenance windows, and upgrades as needed.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Demonstrate practical understanding of AI technologies aligned to modernization and transformation goals.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools for performance analysis and ongoing optimization.
- Apply AI to improve operational efficiency (e.g., reducing toil, accelerating routine tasks).
- Use AI-assisted approaches for incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and faster remediation.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation, including engineering and support processes.
- Apply AI to knowledge management (e.g., documentation, runbooks, search, and Q&A workflows).
- Perform database operations and administration, including strong core database administration skills.
