In this role, you will have a direct impact on the financial, statistical, and regulatory reports submitted to the National Bank of Romania (NBR), the Ministry of Finance, the National Institute of Statistics, and ING Group. You will work in a complex and dynamic environment, collaborate with multiple areas across the bank, and have the opportunity to contribute to transformation and automation initiatives that are shaping the future of reporting processes within ING.
We are looking for a professional with experience in financial reporting and a solid understanding of banking products, eager to leverage their expertise in a role with visibility and impact at both local and Group levels.
About the team
The Financial Reporting team is responsible for preparing and submitting financial, statistical, and prudential reports to local authorities and ING Group. We work in a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing and professional development are continuously encouraged.
Our team is involved both in recurring reporting activities and in strategic projects related to the implementation of new regulatory requirements, process improvements, and reporting infrastructure transformation.
Your day to day
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and submission of financial, regulatory, and statistical reports to local authorities (NBR, Ministry of Finance, National Institute of Statistics) and ING Group, in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Perform analyses, reconciliations, and consistency checks for the reports under your responsibility, ensuring alignment between local and Group reporting.
- Contribute to the quality and reliability of reported data by performing controls, reconciliations, and validations as part of the reporting process.
- Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the reporting framework, regulatory requirements, reporting methodologies, and data sources used.
- Participate in change and transformation projects, including testing new functionalities, products, and reporting solutions, and contribute to identifying and escalating issues encountered.
- Contribute to process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives within the reporting area.
- Apply the relevant control framework and perform assigned controls to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and SOX standards.
- Collaborate with Finance, Risk, IT, and other stakeholders to support the accurate and timely delivery of reporting obligations.
- Support the investigation and resolution of reporting issues, data quality concerns, and reconciliation differences identified during reporting processes.
What you bring to the team
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial reporting within the banking industry or relevant experience in audit and/or consulting for financial institutions.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting requirements, banking regulations (NBR, EBA) is considered an advantage.
- Strong understanding of banking products and their impact on financial an regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ability to work comfortably with large volumes of data and multiple information sources in a complex technical environment.
- Strong analytical thinking, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Clear and effective communication skills in both Romanian and English.
- Results-oriented mindset, accountability for deliverables, and a continuous drive for learning and professional development.
- Proactive attitude and a genuine desire to contribute to process improvements and the successful implementation of change initiatives.
