Responsibilities
- Support the development of Transamerica's enterprise privacy by design playbook, contributing subject matter expertise, drafting guidance materials, and helping translate privacy requirements into practical standards for business and technology teams
- Facilitate and review PIAs and DPIAs across domestic and international business activities, ensuring assessments are thorough, consistent, and produce clear, actionable findings and recommendations
- Manage assigned workstreams within privacy by design initiatives, tracking tasks, dependencies, and deliverables and escalating issues as appropriate
- Translate privacy requirements — including global privacy laws, technical standards, and enterprise risk appetite — into practical operational and business outcomes
- Identify, assess, and communicate privacy risks, dependencies, and remediation recommendations arising from PIAs, technology reviews, AI use cases, and vendor engagements
- Prepare clear, well-structured deliverables, including risk summaries, assessment reports, governance updates, and implementation recommendations
- Support broader privacy operations activities including but not limited to notices, records of processing activities (RoPAs), training enhancements, data subject access requests, process maturity initiatives, and the privacy risk control framework
- Contribute to team knowledge through work product quality, attention to detail, and willingness to share expertise and support colleagues
- Engage cross-functional stakeholders — including Technology, Product, Legal, Security, and business units — to gather information, drive follow-through, and support timely execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business field or equivalent experience
- 8 years of privacy, data security and/or other relevant experience
- Deep practical understanding of global privacy laws and frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, and emerging international requirements, with the ability to apply regulatory obligations in a business and technology context
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce thorough, precise, and well-structured work product
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex privacy concepts clearly to technical, legal, and business audiences
- Ability to manage assigned work independently, maintain momentum, and drive tasks to completion in ambiguous or evolving environments
- Collaborative working style with a willingness to contribute across a range of team priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in business, law, technology, or risk
- 5 years of direct privacy experience with demonstrated expertise in privacy by design principles and privacy impact assessments
- CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, or comparable privacy certification; AI governance, compliance, risk, audit, or project management certification also valued
- Demonstrated experience facilitating and reviewing PIAs and DPIAs in complex enterprise environments
- Strong technical fluency, with the ability to engage meaningfully with technology, data architecture, AI systems, and cybersecurity concepts in the context of privacy risk
- Experience contributing to privacy by design programs or PIA frameworks in a large, complex organization
- Financial services experience

Compensation
The Salary for this position generally ranges between $120K - $140K annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.

This is a hybrid position requiring three days in office per week in one of our hub locations (Philadelphia, PA; Cedar Rapids, IA; Denver, CO). Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
