Job Description

Team Summary

The Testing team is responsible for developing, applying, and maintaining quality standards for Visa products. Develops and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective action.

What a Senior Consultant, Software Test Engineering does at Visa:

• Delivers complex testing, certification, and solution validation activities independently, ensuring successful project outcomes with minimal oversight.

• Translates business, product, and technical requirements into effective test strategies, validation approaches, and delivery plans across multiple products or components.

• Leads testing activities across assigned initiatives, balancing quality objectives, client requirements, and operational readiness.

• Designs, develops, and reviews test artifacts and automation assets while ensuring alignment with business and technical expectations.

• Applies testing best practices to validate functional and non-functional requirements, including security, performance, scalability, availability, and usability.

• Identifies, analyzes, and resolves technical, operational, and application-related issues through structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

• Reviews testing approaches, coverage, automation, and deliverables of peers, providing guidance and escalating risks where appropriate.

• Acts as a trusted subject matter expert, providing consultation to stakeholders on testing, certification, implementation, and solution readiness activities.

• Supports clients and internal partners by providing technical guidance, recommendations, and expertise throughout the testing and implementation lifecycle.

• Drives continuous improvement through increased automation, process optimization, reusable assets, and efficient testing practices.

• Shares knowledge and mentors junior team members, promoting best practices and supporting capability development across the team.

• Participates in strategic initiatives and technology enhancements that improve quality, client experience, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

What you will need:

All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

• 5+ years of relevant experience in technology, payments, banking, financial services, or a related technical field.

• Experience delivering testing, validation, certification, implementation, or technical support activities for software solutions and client-facing services.

• Ability to support testing and certification initiatives across payment systems, applications, platforms, or related technologies, ensuring high-quality and successful client outcomes.

• Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, validation activities, and readiness assessments for complex technical solutions.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve technical, operational, and application-related issues.

• Ability to prioritize workload effectively, manage multiple concurrent activities, and deliver against agreed timelines.

• Experience reviewing testing approaches, plans, and deliverables to ensure efficient execution and quality outcomes.

• Ability to respond to and resolve technical queries from clients, partners, and internal stakeholders in a professional and consultative manner.

• Experience following and improving operational processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement.

• Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical challenges, propose practical solutions, and contribute to successful implementation outcomes.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, vendors, merchants, and cross-functional teams.

• Ability to provide technical guidance and recommendations related to testing, certification, implementation, and solution readiness activities.

• Experience collaborating with global teams, sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
