Job Overview

The CSIS Executive Protection Event Operations Manager is a senior-level security professional responsible for leading Citi's event security program within the Corporate Security & Investigative Services (CSIS) Executive Protection function. This role serves as the principal authority for assessing, planning, and executing security measures for Citi-hosted, Citi-branded, and Citi-attended events globally, ensuring the safety of senior executives, employees, clients, and Citi's institutional interests across all event contexts.

Operating at the intersection of executive protection, risk intelligence, and event operations, this role applies a structured, risk-based methodology to evaluate each event's threat profile and determine the appropriate protective response — from early-stage notification through post-event review. The Event Operations Manager functions as a trusted advisor to event sponsors, organizing functions, and senior stakeholders, and serves as the primary coordinator between CSIS, internal business partners, and external security entities.

The role is accountable for ensuring that protective measures are proportionate, timely, and consistent with Citi's global security standards, and that CSIS's event security framework continuously evolves in response to the changing threat landscape.

● Flexibility to work on-call, off hours, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require

• Manage the CSIS Event Security Notification process, ensuring event sponsors and organizing functions engage CSIS early in the planning cycle — prior to venue finalization or external commitments

• Evaluate event notifications against established intake criteria

• Conduct formal risk assessments using the event security risk methodology, evaluating threat environment, venue characteristics, attendance profile, visibility, and Citi brand exposure

• Apply event-centric protection across operational modes; develop event-specific security plans

• Ensure all protective measures are proportionate to assessed risk and conclude with the event's risk window

Operational Coordination & Execution

• Serve as the operational lead for event security execution, coordinating logistics across internal CSIS teams, contracted security resources, venue security, and external agencies

• Coordinate with CSIS anchors security and intelligence to obtain current threat intelligence, country/city risk profiles, and situational awareness relevant to each event

• Manage on-site security operations during events, including command presence at high-risk engagements as required

• Oversee access control operations, credentialing, and perimeter management in alignment with the event security plan

Stakeholder Advisory & Engagement

• Function as the primary CSIS subject matter expert and advisor on event security for internal business partners, event sponsors, senior leadership, and Citi lines of business

• Educate and guide organizing functions on CSIS notification requirements, event security expectations, and their respective responsibilities throughout the planning process

• Maintain strong working relationships with external partners, including venue security managers, contracted security vendors, hospitality security teams, and local law enforcement liaisons

• Represent CSIS in cross-functional planning meetings and security briefings related to major events

• Participate in professional forums and industry networks to maintain current awareness of trends in executive protection, event security, terrorism, threat actor activity, and geopolitical developments

Reporting, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Prepare comprehensive after-action reports for all significant events, documenting protective measures deployed, incidents or anomalies encountered, and lessons learned

• Maintain accurate and complete records of event risk assessments, security plans, and operational outcomes

• Analyze event security trends and threat data to identify opportunities to enhance the event security risk methodology and operational playbooks

• Track and report on event security program activity, including volume, risk distribution, and resource utilization, for CSIS leadership review

• Provide support to the global executive protection program ensuring continuity of executive protective services during periods of absence, surge demand, or operational necessity
