Investor Relations is a part of Oaktree’s investment teams with responsibility for growing and deepening relationships with the clients and prospects investing in our respective strategies. Investor Relations professionals serve as representatives and subject matter experts for Oaktree’s strategies and products, partnering closely with our sales and fundraise management teams to drive growth and deepen client engagement.

Responsibilities
This role will be aligned to Oaktree’s Emerging Markets Equities strategy, a public, long-only equity strategy, supporting the execution of investor communications and materials for the strategy. This individual will work closely with other investor relations team members, portfolio managers and investment professionals, our Global Client Group, and other internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality investor materials, support client engagement efforts, and ensure timely and accurate responses to investor inquiries. The role offers the opportunity to develop deep knowledge of emerging markets, fundamental equity investing, and portfolio positioning within a collaborative, investment-focused environment.
Primary responsibilities would include:
Investor Communications
- Support preparation for client meetings, including identifying relevant portfolio and market materials, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across materials, and coordinating inputs across teams
- Prepare responses to regular and ad-hoc investor inquiries relating to portfolio holdings, performance, positioning, risk exposures, and emerging markets developments
- Help coordinate materials for periodic client engagement, including portfolio updates, quarterly reviews, conferences, and other investor meetings
- Contribute to presentations, fact sheets, portfolio commentary, talking points on salient topics, and other marketing and client-facing materials
Project Management & Execution
- Contribute to a high-performing investor relations team by maintaining strong attention to detail and execution quality
- Track deliverables and timelines to ensure timely reply to clients and timely completion of materials
- Identify required information and coordinate across the investment team, performance and reporting teams, Global Client Group, and other stakeholders to compile and present information to investors
- Take ownership of the quality of the end-product, even when multiple teams have contributed
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving
Insight Development
- Develop a strong understanding of portfolio holdings, country and sector exposures, strategy positioning, performance drivers, and emerging markets dynamics
- Support the team in synthesizing investment insights, portfolio analytics, and market developments into clear, client-ready materials
- Contribute to written commentary regarding portfolio performance, stock selection, country and sector themes, and the market outlook, building the foundation to participate more actively in client discussions over time
- Develop sound judgment with respect to sensitive, client-facing matters
Qualifications
- 4-5 years of relevant experience in institutional asset management; direct experience supporting public, long-only equity strategies is required
- Strong knowledge of public equity markets and fundamental, bottom-up investing; experience with emerging markets equities is strongly preferred
- Ability to interpret portfolio characteristics, performance attribution, and benchmark-relative positioning and translate them into clear investor communications
- Ability to interact effectively with clients, portfolio managers, investment teams, and other internal stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong project management, attention to detail, and teamwork skills
- FINRA licenses (Series 7 and 63) or the ability to obtain them within a compressed timeframe
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), with the ability to create both client-facing and internal deliverables
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (major in Finance, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred).
- MBA, CFA or other recognized advanced credentials is a plus.
Base Salary
$150,000 - $225,000
In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
