Senior Analyst, Investment (Korean Speaking) – hybrid role in Hong Kong, working with Mercer’s Wealth Team.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer. This role will be based in Hong Kong. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
What can you expect?
As Wealth consultants, we help clients (sponsors of pension funds, endowments, other institutional asset pools and retirement pensions) to achieve their objectives by advising on appropriate strategies and policies. We provide expertise advice on a wide range of investment-related topics such as strategic asset allocation, sustainable investing, asset liability modelling, and risk strategy.
The Korea focused wealth senior analyst will be based in Hong Kong to support investment business from technical, analytical and operational aspects and provide high quality advisory and client solution services in English and Korean. Wealth analyst is also responsible for supporting consultants in delivery of investment advisory projects, client work and business development support activities.
Wealth Senior Analyst is expected to be self‑motivated and tackle problems independently, while also working under the guidance from senior team members.
We will count on you to:
- Support business development initiatives to expand business opportunities and client base.
- Participate investment advisory projects across all asset classes including private markets together with consulting project team as a senior investment analyst.
- Join the full cycle client projects through independent research, data analysis applying relevant methodologies, drafting written reports, and attending client meetings.
- Assist in client’s portfolio management analysis, including asset allocation, investment manager selection, fund performance, risk and attribution analysis, leveraging Mercer’s proprietary analytics tools, internal databases and third‑party resources.
- Craft compelling and customized materials/responses to address all the necessary requirements from prospective clients and develop team’s business in a timely manner.
- Cover client enquiries from investment technical and operational aspects by collaborating with specialists in various regions.
- Have ownership for the assigned works to deliver well‑polished deliverables with minimal changes from peers’ reviews.
- Communicate requests from clients in a clear and articulate manner and provide suggestions on ways to resolve those requests – which can then be executed by the rest of Mercer team.
What you need to have:
- Good academic track record and 3+ years of proven working experience with consulting, banking, financial services and asset management.
- Can demonstrate strong communication, analytical and technical skills. Deep understanding of Korean clients and their organizational culture and have good knowledge of how to manage their expectations and their experience with Mercer.
- Strong analytical and technical skills. Comfortable with conducting complex comparative analysis with large data sets in an efficient manner.
- Familiar with global firm’s environment by independently and proactively working with high responsibilities and actively participating for teamwork.
- Strong organizational skills, task prioritization, attention to detail, ability to exercise sound judgment and independent problem‑solving skills.
- Experience of writing or summarizing research reports for market analysis in a professional capacity will support your application.
- A team‑player attitude and ability to develop relationships. Have strong self‑initiative and curiosity in financial services, self‑motivated to seek out knowledge, test ideas and ways to contribute to the team.
- Positive attitude and strong personal management in order to plan ahead for foreseeable tasks and understand own capacity for unforeseeable tasks.
- Demonstrate ability to break down complex problems and offer solutions. Ability to complete work independently in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner.
- Attention to detail, organized and ability to multi‑tasks.
- Good command on MS Office applications (MS-Excel, MS-Word, Outlook). Strong IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Have completed or are close to completing professional relating to investment/asset management and/or actuarial field.
- Language requirements: native in Korean and fluent in English, both written and verbal.
