Your role
As part of Operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the firm operates efficiently, with strong risk control and a seamless client experience.
You will be responsible for the accurate and timely execution of securities settlement and transaction processing activities, while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
In this role, you will:
- Process securities settlement and transaction processes with a high level of accuracy and timeliness
- Ensure strong adherence to controls, reconciliations, and regulatory requirements
- Act as a key escalation point for operational issues and support timely resolution
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to manage transaction flows
- Identify inefficiencies and contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives
- Support digital transformation and continuous improvement within the function
- Promote a risk‑aware, accountable, and collaborative team culture
We’re looking for a Securities Settlement Specialist to:
- Execute processes and controls in a timely, accurate, and complete manner
- Understand and manage risks associated with your business and function
- Work across teams and functions to identify the best solutions or courses of action
- Investigate issues and communicate effectively with internal teams and external counterparties
- Act as a first point of escalation for operational and people‑related matters
- Proactively identify issues and drive timely resolution
- Collaborate effectively across teams to deliver optimal outcome

Your team
You will join the Operations team in Japan, supporting both UBS SuMi TRUST Wealth Management Co., Ltd. and UBS Securities Japan Co., Ltd.
The team is responsible for:
- Settlement of international securities (equities, bonds, and funds) & banking products
- Cash transfers and transaction processing related to client accounts
The team handles both standardized and complex transactions, working closely with internal business partners and external counterparties to ensure accurate execution and strong risk management.
Your expertise
- Motivated professional with strong analytical and communication skills who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to think logically and flexibly
- Good understanding of operational risk, controls, and escalation processes
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset in both Japanese and English
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across teams
- Experience in securities settlement, operations, or financial services (preferred)
