Your role

We’re looking for someone like that who can help us:
- • work closely with senior bankers to originate business with financial sponsor clients and their portfolio companies;
- • take responsibility for transaction execution across a range of live deals, including preparation of key marketing and transaction documentation;
- • coordinate across sector coverage and product teams to deliver transactions spanning M&A, leveraged and acquisition financing, and IPOs/equity capital markets;
- • play a leading role in executing complex, often cross‑border transactions that are market‑leading in scale and impact;
- • work collaboratively with junior bankers and help them develop both technical and project management skills; and
- • build and maintain strong relationships with financial sponsors, portfolio companies and broader client networks

Your team
You will be working in the Financial Sponsors Group in Sydney, focused on advising leading domestic and global private equity firms and their portfolio companies. The team is at the centre of many of the firm’s most significant and high‑profile transactions, partnering closely with industry and product teams across M&A, financing and equity capital markets.
As part of this team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of sponsors and sectors, and work on transactions across the full lifecycle — from origination through to execution — including buyouts, exits, recapitalisations, IPOs and acquisition financings. UBS is widely regarded as a leading investment bank in Australia, and this role offers a unique opportunity to work on some of the most significant transactions in the Australian market.
Your expertise
- • 4–5 years’ experience gained from working in investment banking (preferred), accountancy, law, strategic consultancy or a similar financial services profession, with a strong track record of success;
- • experience across M&A, leveraged finance, and/or equity capital markets transactions is highly valued;
- • strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to produce high-quality presentation material quickly and communicate key messages clearly;
- • strong academic results;
- • a team player with the ability to perform under pressure and deliver high-quality output in fast‑paced environments;
- • a proactive mindset and a desire to continuously expand your technical and relationship skill set; and
- • a clear commitment to building a career in investment banking, ideally with an interest in working with financial sponsors
- • You’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
