The Opportunity
We are looking for engineers with an interest in infrastructure storage engineering. You will be an integral part of a global infrastructure team, providing follow the sun support to Visa’s systems.
The Work itself
- Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, security, and availability of Storage and SAN infrastructure based on business requirements and adhering to tight operations, security, and procedural model
- Responsible for automation of infrastructure tasks to reduce repetitive or time‑generating processes, utilizing SRE principles and practices and an infrastructure as code methodology
- Responsible for complex provisioning, advanced maintenance, data replication, disaster recovery, data migration and documentation for our Open Systems Storage and Backup environments
- Demonstrate a high level of technical expertise to support complex Storage & Backup devices, including SAN, NAS and Backup solutions across all tiers, under minimal supervision
- Be scheduled On‑Call to support the infrastructure and our systems.
- Willingness to work on shift days (Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00AM to 6:00PM local time)
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field is preferred
This is associate level role 0,5- 3,5 years of commercial experience
Preferred Qualifications
A keen interest in learning storage technologies and working in an infrastructure support role.
Experience with UNIX (Linux, AIX, Solaris), VMware or other hypervisors, and Windows operating environments
Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong inter‑person skills
Strong ability to self‑learn new storage technologies
Monitoring, Tuning, Troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
Strong organization and analysis skills
Strong focus on quality and customer service
Must be able to multitask and prioritize work
Strong analytical and practical problem solving skills
The Skills You Bring
Experience of working in an infrastructure support role and/or a keen interest in learning the role of an infrastructure support engineer in the storage realm
An interest in scripting / coding for infrastructure automation
