Purpose of the role

To manage and monitor Third Party risk and performance to meet the requirements of the Barclays Third party Service provider Policy and Standards, through control execution, commercial management, relationship and risk management.

Accountabilities

• Management and execution of the Third Party Service Provider control processes, including oversight of Third Party Service Provider and their performance, monitoring of KPIs to guarantee expectations are met.

• Collaboration with various stakeholder groups to produce deliverables that meet procurement needs, policies and standards, mitigate Third Party Service Provider risks and issues and ensure Third Party Service Provider relationship align to the bank’s needs and business strategy.

• Identification of Third Party Service Providers that will provide the right goods and service through market research, capabilities analysis and contract negotiation.

• Identification of industry trends and developments related to Third Party Service Provider management tools and techniques by attending conferences and participating in training.

• Monitoring of Third Party Service Providers’ control operation to meet Barclays Third party Service provider Management Standards and contractual obligations including quality standards, risk mitigation and commercial activity.

• Collaboration with regulatory teams to support Global regulatory requests/exams/ongoing activity.

We are looking for a Supplier Manager with experience in supplier, service or third-party management within a regulated environment. You will support the management of newly established BPL third-party relationships, working with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure services are delivered in line with agreed cost, risk, service and contractual requirements. A background in fintech or payments would be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Support supplier management activity for third-party supplier relationships, ensuring appropriate oversight of performance, risk, service and contractual obligations.
• Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders and suppliers, helping to resolve issues, incidents and service-related queries.
• Review supplier management information to identify trends, risks, issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Support supplier-related change activity, including service variations, governance updates and documentation changes.
• Contribute to effective supplier governance, reporting and control in line with Barclays or BPL policies and third-party risk requirements.

Barclays’ payments acceptance business provides critical infrastructure to the UK economy, processing billions of pounds of payments annually for both small businesses and domestic and international corporate clients.

In April 2025, we announced a long-term partnership with Brookfield Asset Management to grow and transform the payments acceptance business by broadening the range of services offered, enhancing the experience for both existing and prospective clients. Leveraging extensive client relationships and deep experience of UK payments, we will create an environment of continuous innovation - activated by Brookfield’s global private equity expertise in payments, technology, operational transformation and corporate carve-outs - to ensure the business is strategically positioned for long-term growth.

Barclays will invest approximately £400m in the new business, the majority of which will be incurred during the first three years. Performance-linked incentives will drive greater alignment between the partners, underpinning the long-term commitment to the transformation. Barclays and Brookfield will work to create a standalone entity over time, continuing to use the Barclaycard Payments (BPL) brand and acting as the sole payments acceptance services provider to Barclays’ clients for a minimum of ten years.

To be successful as a Supplier Manager you should have experience in:

• Supplier, service or third-party management, ideally within a regulated financial services environment.​
• Working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support service delivery and issue resolution.
• Analysing supplier performance, risk or service information and making practical recommendations.
• Understanding cost, risk, service and contractual requirements.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Background in fintech or payments, with an understanding of fast-paced, regulated businesses.
• Awareness of supplier risk, payments regulation or third-party oversight requirements.
• Experience supporting supplier governance, reporting, change or continuous improvement activity.
