Job Summary

• As a Data Scientist, you'd be able to work on and solve many interesting challenges which we are facing, learn new ways of working, and help build delightful high-quality products for our customers.  
• We are looking for a Data Scientist to help building our Enterprise Data Foundation for our digital venture in Singapore and analyze large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help improve our company. We will rely on you to build data products to extract valuable business insights.
• In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for machine-learning and research. 

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Analytics and AI
• Build and implement the Dashboard/Reporting platform, Machine Learning environment, and Analytics platforms (AWS, Google) with relevant stakeholders. 
• Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms for propensity to buy, churn prevention, behavioural segmentation, and personalization across deposits, lending, investments, and bancassurance products. 
• Conduct AML, Credit Risk, and Fraud analytics, including detection models, scoring models, early warning indicators, transaction monitoring analytics, and anomaly detection. 
• Create and maintain fraud detection and prevention models (application fraud and transaction fraud) and continuously enhance detection logic based on emerging patterns. 
• Build and refine AML analytics such as suspicious activity detection, behavioural patterning, customer risk scoring, and model tuning to reduce false positives. 
• Develop and maintain credit scoring models, behavioural risk models, and portfolio monitoring analytics to support underwriting, line management, collections, and risk-based pricing. 
• Analyse large datasets from internal and third-party sources to drive optimization of products, customer experience, risk controls, marketing effectiveness, and business strategies. 
• Enhance data collection procedures to include features relevant for building robust product, risk, AML, and fraud analytic systems. 
• Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used in model development and ongoing analytics. 
• Automate data ingestion pipelines and anomaly detection systems, ensuring continuous performance tracking. 
• Identify trends and patterns using exploratory data analysis, statistical techniques, and AI driven insights. 
• Present insights using clear storytelling, data visualization techniques, and actionable recommendations for business and risk stakeholders. 
• Execute ad hoc analyses across business, product, AML, credit, and fraud domains, presenting clear results to senior management. 
• Select features, build and optimize machine learning classifiers, and implement continuous improvements to models.

Model Governance
• Develop processes, dashboards, and tools to monitor and analyse model performance, stability, drift, and data accuracy across Product, AML, Credit Risk, and Fraud models. 
• Support full model governance lifecycle including documentation, validation readiness, performance reporting, and compliance with internal model risk management standards. 
• Conduct periodic reviews of model inputs, assumptions, conceptual soundness, and operational effectiveness. 
• Monitor false positive/false negative rates, ongoing calibration needs, and performance degradation. 
• Collaborate with Model Validation, Compliance, Risk teams to ensure adherence to regulatory expectations and internal governance frameworks. 
• Ensure transparency, traceability, and reproducibility of all models—including versioning, change management, and governance artefact maintenance. 
• Provide clear reporting of model behaviours, risks, limitations, and performance outcomes to business, product, and risk committees.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor
• Language: English

• 5-7 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models
• Technical leadership in Gen Ai – Evaluate and select right LLM / RAG Architecture to deliver bank use cases
• Design and Deploy Agentic AI workflow
• Master’s or PHD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field.
• Experience creating data architectures.
• Experience of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist
• Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
• Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Data Studio) and data frameworks (e.g. Google Big Query, Big Table, Data Flow)
• Problem-solving aptitude
• Have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience Agile way of working and tools (Jira, Confluence, Trello, Slack etc.)
