As a manager specialising in Proposition Design within our Experience & Marketing Transformation team, you will lead the design and delivery of innovative propositions that help clients take new products, services, and business models to market with confidence. You will manage end-to-end proposition design workstreams, from deep customer and market research through to concept development, commercial validation, and go-to-market planning.

You will engage directly with clients to understand their challenges, customer needs, and competitive landscape, translating complex insights into compelling propositions that are desirable, commercially viable, and technically feasible. Your expertise in human-centred design, hypothesis-driven approaches, rapid prototyping, and structured innovation methodologies will be crucial in helping clients unlock new sources of value and deliver measurable market impact.

You will work with outstanding digital talent across disciplines to innovate and create great solutions for iconic brands. Whilst Proposition Design will be your core craft, you will also be connected to other areas of Customer and Marketing Strategy, and depending on your background and experience, projects could span:

• Research: Developing personas, conducting market research & analysis, and playing back key insights from qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Proposition Design: Developing compelling new products, services, and business models.
• Service Design: Crafting seamless and impactful customer and employee experiences.
• Product design: Website and app UX/UI design.
  
  

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead proposition design workstreams end-to-end, managing delivery to timelines, quality standards, and client expectations, and taking ownership of key project milestones.
• Drive rigorous qualitative and quantitative research with customers, stakeholders, and market experts to deeply understand client challenges, unmet needs, and competitive dynamics.
• Design, rapidly prototype, and iterate compelling propositions using hypothesis-driven approaches and rapid experimentation, defining core user benefits, value exchange, and commercial implications.
• Facilitate client co-creation workshops, ideation sessions, and stakeholder alignment meetings, ensuring diverse perspectives are captured and translated into actionable proposition concepts and prototypes.
• Develop high-quality proposition artefacts including value proposition canvases, business model designs, customer journey maps, interactive prototypes, go-to-market frameworks, and MVP specifications.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, providing structured feedback, sharing repeatable frameworks, and building their proposition design and research capabilities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with strategy, service design, technology, and delivery teams to ensure propositions are commercially viable, technically feasible, and ready for market.

To excel in this role, you will need strong functional, design, and analytical skills, coupled with demonstrable experience in leading proposition design or innovation projects and a passion for solving complex, ambiguous problems.

You will have expertise in the following:

• : Proven ability to plan and conduct comprehensive qualitative and quantitative research (user interviews, ethnographic studies, surveys, desk research), synthesise insights, and translate them into clear, evidence-based recommendations.
• : Demonstrable experience in designing and iterating new propositions, outlining core user benefits, defining commercial models, and taking a hypothesis-based, experimental approach to validation.
• : Proven ability to quickly translate concepts into tangible prototypes (e.g., wireframes, mock-ups, interactive flows) for testing and validation with users and stakeholders.
• : Experience in developing business strategies, market entry frameworks, and growth strategies that are grounded in customer insight and market analysis.
• : Familiarity with agile and iterative delivery methodologies, with the ability to guide propositions through go-to-market planning and support MVP delivery alongside technical teams.
  
  

You will also have the following key skills:

• Demonstrable experience managing client relationships and presenting recommendations clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading small teams or workstreams, managing delivery to deadlines, and providing direction to junior team members.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous challenges and develop clear, actionable solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for workshop facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams across design, strategy, and technology disciplines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, storytelling, and client-facing deliverables.
• Confidence using AI tools and LLMs in day-to-day work — and a genuine interest in how AI can enhance ways of working and client delivery.
