ResponsibilitiesWithin the Structured Finance & Liquidity team (SFL), you will work on banking applications supporting structured finance activities, liquidity calculations and regulatory reporting.Your role will be to contribute to the development and maintenance of information systems used by Société Générale’s Corporate and Investment Banking business.The team works closely with business users, Business Analysts and IT teams located in Paris and Warsaw.As we continue to grow our entity in Poland, we are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer who will help build and enhance backend solutions, support technical design and ensure that delivered solutions meet both business and regulatory requirements.Your future scope of responsibility will cover:Developing code by applying Software Craftsmanship best practices and quality standards (technical debt, clean code, review, peer programming, infrastructure as a code etc.)Understanding business requirements and defining technical solutions to implement themRegularly delivering product incrementsWorking closely with development team located in Paris (remotely)Applying release processes, and L1/L2/L3 support in case of production issue by applying technical fixesIntegrating and applying Agile methodology by participating, and contributing to all ceremoniesActively collaborating on specifications, test plans and certification together with Business AnalystsProviding technical analysis, effort estimation and risk assessment to support project scoping and ensure the solution meets business needsSeeking the most appropriate solution to ensure security, scalability and efficiencyAnalyzing errors and contributing to continuous improvement solutionsSharing knowledge with other Team MembersParticipating weekend operations for resiliency tests, upgrades etc. (2-3 weekends per year)Developing and maintaining continuous delivery toolsCreating and managing technical documentationsProfile requiredYou will be best suited for this role if:You have 5+ years relevant experience in Java backend developmentYou have experience working with Spring & Spring Boot frameworksYou are familiar with and proficient in using Jenkins and MavenYou are comfortable working with relational databases and SQLYou are able to translate mathematical equations into codeYou understand how web services and are familiar with monitoring tools like Logstash, Kibana and Elasticsearch (nice to have)You work efficiently in Agile environments & BDD practicesYou possess strong analytical, and problem-solving skillsYou are customer-oriented, a team player and value partnership-based relationshipsYou have continuous improvement mindset and excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)You are able to plan and prioritize your workYou are fluent in English (Polish or French will be an asset)Why join usYour future with Societe Generale will include:Work in a pleasant atmosphere as part of an international team in a brand-new office in the center of Warsaw, designed with facilities for people with disabilitiesAn active role in an international structure and the opportunity for growthAccess to educational platforms and language coursesStabilityCompetitive salary based on seniority and skillsSupport in quick adaptation in the companyExtraordinary health package with extensive dental careHybrid work (3 days per week in the office) and one-time bonus for home office equipmentEven more benefits such as meal allowance, holiday fund, sports card and insurance*Please be informed that we will be accepting only resumes in English.Business insightAt Société Générale, we are convinced that people are drivers of change, and that the world of tomorrow will be shaped by all their initiatives, from the smallest to the most ambitious.Whether you’re joining us for a period of months, years or your entire career, together we can have a positive impact on the future.
