Coordinator (Metallurgical)
Operations
In this role you will be responsible for:
. The successful candidate will report to the Superintendent (Plant)
. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Spiral Plant, Thickeners, Flocculent Plant & Magnetic Separation Plant.
. Responsible for managing the production team and ensuring compliance to Health & Safety protocols.
. Continuously optimise and improve the Plant processes and systems.
. Oversee the effective operation of the Plant within set parameters.
. Plan and execute plant metallurgical equipment maintenance and control plant process budget.
. Provide strong leadership by planning, organising, and controlling all activities in the Plant.
. Assist management with identifying the gaps in the current Plant procedures and operating processes.
. Ensure production targets are communicated to personnel and plans are in place to meet set targets.
. Monitor compliance on dispatching of final product and final product stockpile management.
. Perform standby duties.
. Monitor production recovery and quality of final product produced on a daily basis and perform necessary changes.
About you:
. Diploma in Chemical or Extractive Metallurgy or relevant equivalent qualification (NQF6).
. Certificate in Basic Coal Preparation (advantageous)
. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Supervisory role, specifically on Gravity, Magnetic, Solid/Liquid separation processes.
. Strong leadership and people skills with proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
. Proficient in MS Office Suite, SAP Production Module & Coupa P2P.
. Medically fit to work on surface, working at heights and in confined spaces.
