Are you an experienced leader with a passion for Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorist Financing and data-driven financial crime prevention? As Lead Transaction Monitoring Design, you will guide a team of specialists responsible for developing and optimizing innovative transaction monitoring solutions that protect both our clients and the integrity of the financial system.

Your job

As Lead Transaction Monitoring Design - Business Clients, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring a team of specialists dedicated to designing and optimizing transaction monitoring solutions for our business client portfolio. You will drive strategy, set priorities, and ensure the team delivers innovative and effective solutions to detect and prevent financial crime. Your leadership will be key in aligning efforts across departments and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. 

Your responsibilities include: 

• Lead and manage the Transaction Monitoring Design team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
• Define strategic objectives and ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for transaction monitoring design, offering hands-on expertise and advice.
• Foster collaboration between cross-functional teams, including compliance, IT, and data analytics.
• Empower the team to continuously innovate, improve processes, and stay ahead of emerging risks and trends.
• Encourage the team to represent in internal and external forums, ensuring visibility and recognition for their achievements.
• Monitor team performance and progress, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

The Detecting Financial Crime – Transaction Monitoring Design team contributes to the development of smart solutions to detect financial crime, including money laundering, terrorist financing and human trafficking. Criminals never rest, so we need to continuously adapt and innovate to beat them to it. Our work is in the full limelight, from the senior management of the bank, the national regulators such as DNB, to society. This illustrates the important role that we play as gatekeepers of the financial system.  

You’ll be working in a driven and dynamic environment, where people are excited to work in line with a shared vision and objective. The DFC department is characterized by a non-hierarchical structure, short lines of communication, a focus on deliverables and close teamwork with other departments. Although we make high demands of our work, we never lose sight of the human dimension because we believe that the success of our mission depends on it.  

Your profile

• At least 3 years of leadership experience, ideally in transaction monitoring, financial crime prevention, or a related field, with a proven ability to inspire and guide teams to success.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in a relevant discipline
• Extensive knowledge of transaction monitoring, financial crime prevention, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Analytical expertise and a solution-oriented mindset, capable of translating complex challenges into actionable strategies.
• Experience with business client portfolios, understanding their unique risks and operational dynamics.
• A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and team development.
• You are based in The Netherlands.
