Job Description

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful as a Senior Analyst, you should have experience with:

Essential Skills:

• Extensive hands-on development experience with Core Java (Java 17+), Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Ample proficiency in Python or Scala programming languages.
• Experience with Apache Spark and big data processing frameworks.
• AWS hands on with S3, EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, Glue, Athena, data pipelines, step function and knowledge of Analytical services.
• Experience with distributed computing architecture, Core Hadoop components (HDFS, Spark, Yarn, HIVE, Impala, HyperCube) & expertise in HQL.
• Experience of directly working with end users and BAs to elicit requirements, and work through design and implementation.
• Building high performance applications that process large amounts of data.
• Skilled communicator at a wide variety of levels and capabilities.
• Experience with Agile (SAFE) methodology and software development approach.
• Experience with VCS tools such as GIT or equivalent.
• Experience with Running and supporting structured testing.

Preferred Skills:

• Investment banking / risk experience or Willingness and capacity to learn complex financial concepts relevant to the role.
• Experience with devops/automation (CI/CD) via Teamcity/JenkinGitlab or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of micro services, Kafka would be a big plus.
• Continuous improvement and contribute to the design and architecture of the overall solution.
