Your career opportunityThe GCIO Chief Control Office (CCO) team plays an important role in enabling the bank to operate within its risk appetite by ensuring efficient and effective risk and control management. We do this by providing operational risk and control expertise, specialist technical knowledge and a deep understanding of the businesses and functions we serve.Key activities include implementation and oversight of the Group’s Risk Management Framework, ongoing and targeted controls assessments, implementing and maintaining robust risk governance, and championing a proactive risk culture. GCIO CCO works closely with partners across all lines of defence and is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with our regulators and external partners.
What you’ll do
- Drive control adoption and compliance delivery (GRAS/KCIs): Own end-to-end control adoption execution / updates and compliance performance; standardise execution with Control Owners/Operators/RCOs to ensure controls are implemented, evidenced, and operating effectively; manage and escalate remediation to keep risk metrics within tolerance.
- Assure metric integrity and reporting cadence: Maintain and improve GRAS/KCI methodology (definitions, calculation logic, and data quality controls); operate fit-for-purpose operational/tactical/governance reporting; deliver actionable insights on adoption, control effectiveness, and risk concentrations.
- Enable a single metrics/reporting product suite: Partner with GCIO CCO Shared Services to define requirements, adoption approach, and success measures for a scalable, trusted reporting solution across CIO CIB & HBEU.
- Lead programme delivery for risk & controls initiatives: Manage prioritisation, funding inputs, dependencies, delivery tracking, and execution governance for group-wide initiatives; drive alignment and outcomes communication; apply risk-based prioritisation with LT and Control Owners.
- Strengthen governance, challenge, and assurance (TRCB/RCMM): Produce accurate, decision-ready governance materials; challenge control design and operation (especially “less than effective" KCIs); coordinate assurance/assessment activities and RCMM inputs, ensuring evidence quality and consistency.
- Accelerate preventative controls and automation (AI/agentic AI): Partner with ITSOs and Engineering to design and implement preventative automated controls; enable proactive compliance and monitoring using governed AI/agentic approaches with Shared Services.
- Provide clear stakeholder communication: Give Business and Technology stakeholders a transparent view of adoption, risk-reduction impact, control effectiveness, remediation timelines, and key issues—focused on actionable facts over “metric theatre".
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Risk & controls senior management experience: Senior experience in Technology Risk & Controls/control adoption/assurance within a regulated financial services environment; delivery against GRAS/KCI-style regimes, including governance submissions and assurance/QA engagement.
- Programme execution: Proven delivery across complex, multi-stakeholder portfolios, including prioritisation, funding inputs, dependency management, and governance.
- Metrics engineering and MI: Experience defining metric methodologies, improving data integrity, and operating reporting cadences that drive decisions; ability to translate control signals into risk-based insights for senior stakeholders.
- Stakeholder management and escalation: Effective partnering across value streams, RCOs, Control Owners/Operators, Engineering, and shared services; confident challenge and escalation while maintaining productive working relationships.
- Modern control design: Working knowledge of preventative/automated controls and engineering practices across Technology, Cyber, and Data; familiarity with AI-enabled monitoring/reporting (including agentic patterns) with strong governance, model risk, and operational resilience awareness.
- Personal attributes and tooling: Outcome-focused, pragmatic, comfortable with ambiguity; high standards for evidence and reporting integrity; clear communicator; experience with JIRA/Confluence/dashboards beneficial; certifications (CISA/CISSP/CRISC/CCSP) advantageous.
What we offerThe pay range for this role is 21 259 PLN - 31 883 PLN (monthly, gross).
Additional car allowance in the amount of 4786 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
