We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) Malaysia Head (Internal Job Title: Country Business Head Senior Group Manager - C15)based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A senior leadership role to head Citi Commercial Bank business in Malaysia, requiring an experienced and strategic professional to manage and grow the business, with a focus on mid-corporate clients and multinational subsidiaries. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to Country / Cluster Leadership and function as an intergral member of the functional leadership team in Malaysia.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Management:
Manage the country's commercial banking business with full P&L responsibility (Revenue, Expense, and Net Income).
Formulate and execute functional strategy, determining the approach to implementation and contributing to future strategic direction for the business.
Drive innovation within the product organization, including solutions provided to clients through partnerships with product specialists and subject matter experts.
Develop growth strategies through alliances and strategic product development to capture market share.
Initiate and drive transformational initiatives to optimize resources and enhance product financials and profitability.
Represent the business in senior management committees and various management forums.
Client & Market Development:
Lead the management and growth of the business across revenue, volume, and asset dimensions.
Deepen client relationships, proactively anticipate needs, and identify/pursue new clients aligned with the CITI COMMERCIAL BANK (CCB) value proposition.
Drive customer segmentation, product positioning, pricing, and marketing plans for each client segment.
Ensure competitive product offerings that meet client needs through seamless integration and packaging of products.
Develop a network and payment distribution strategy, adapting to new and evolving channels.
Team Leadership & Talent Development:
Manage multiple teams through other managers, with full responsibility for people management, budget, and planning.
Attract, retain, and motivate a high-performing team of Relationship Managers (RMs) / Bankers.
Conduct performance evaluations, manage compensation, hiring, and other talent actions
Train and develop team members, acting as a 'go-to' resource for opportunities and guidance.
Risk Management & Compliance:
Appropriately assess risk in all business decisions, safeguarding Citigroup's reputation, clients, and assets.
Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Citi Policies and applying sound ethical judgment.
Supervise the activities of others effectively and create accountability for upholding compliance standards.
Ensure that all strategic initiatives meet compliance and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
15+ years experience
Proven managerial skills
Structuring and origination of large transactions
Ability to deal with large and complex matrix environment.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines
Analytical skills and in depth knowledge of balance sheet
Excellent communication skills
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
