Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support the Risk Function in delivering it’s objective of safeguarding the bank's financial and operational stability by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units and activities.

Accountabilities

• Development of strategic direction for risk, including the implementation of up-to-date methodologies and processes.
• Management of the risk department, including oversight of risk colleagues and their performance, implementation of risk priorities and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness.
• Relationship management of risk stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third-party services.
• Adherence to the Risk policy, standards and frameworks, and maintaining a robust control environment.

Join us as a Senior VP Economic Crime Risk Manager - Onboarding where you will lead the economic crime risk framework across the onboarding stage of the customer lifecycle, acting as a trusted subject matter expert and key escalation point for complex onboarding matters. You will be responsible for designing and enhancing risk and control frameworks, supporting the onboarding of new-to-bank customers and clients across all business areas, and ensuring effective implementation of regulatory, policy, and process changes. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will provide leadership and oversight on economic crime risk, drive consistency in onboarding practices, and take a holistic view across the full customer lifecycle to identify, mitigate, and manage emerging risks while delivering a seamless customer experience.

To be successful as an Economic Crime Manager - Onboarding you must have the following essential skills

• Demonstrated people Leadership experience, with a proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire high-performing teams.

• Extensive first-line Economic Crime experience, with an expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial crime risks across business operations and products.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across diverse cross-functional teams and senior leadership groups.

• Proven experience within the Financial Services sector, with a ample understanding of FinTech, Corporate and/or Business Banking products, customers, and associated risk frameworks.

• Comprehensive knowledge of UK financial crime legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices relating to Economic Crime and risk management.

• Exceptional influencing and execution capabilities, with a experience of driving outcomes and delivering strategic projects across complex cross-functional environments.

• Knowledge of onboarding processes and industry best practices to support a positive customer experience.

• Understanding of AI concepts and their practical application across the customer lifecycle to drive efficiency and customer success.

Some other highly valued skills may include

• Recognised financial crime qualification (ICA AML Diploma, ACAMS, or Equivalent)
