Implementation Specialist (Airlines/Travel Distribution)
Technology / Software Development
Job Title
Implementation Specialist (Airlines/Travel Distribution)Purpose of the role
The Implementation Specialist ensures that customers can successfully adopt and use Amadeus Ticketing & Payment products by managing the implementation lifecycle from requirement clarification and readiness assessment through product provisioning, configuration, functional validation, production activation, go-live, and post-implementation support. The role applies strong knowledge of product functionality, customer and office setups, configuration dependencies, referential elements, and market-specific requirements to translate business needs into accurate, secure, and reliable solutions. It coordinates closely with customers, product teams, implementation stakeholders, and operations to manage dependencies, resolve configuration or product-usage issues, document implementation evidence, and deliver within agreed quality standards, timelines, and service commitments.
As a supporting activity, the role performs targeted data monitoring, validation, and operational controls to confirm configuration quality, identify anomalies or emerging issues, protect service continuity, and support structured investigation and corrective action. This monitoring complements—but does not replace—the role’s primary focus on product implementation and functional expertise. The Implementation Specialist is also expected to demonstrate a strong automation and AI mindset by identifying repetitive, manual, or error-prone activities; documenting improvement opportunities and requirements; contributing to testing and adoption of automation, GenAI, and quality-assurance solutions; and using these capabilities responsibly to improve first-time-right delivery, detect issues earlier, reduce manual effort, and scale implementation services while maintaining appropriate human oversight and quality controls.
In this role you'll:
Own assigned customer implementations from requirement clarification and readiness assessment through planning, activation, go-live, and handover. Coordinate customer and internal dependencies proactively to deliver a clear, responsive, and high-quality implementation experience.
Provision, configure, and maintain Ticketing & Payment products, customer and office setups, referential elements, and market-specific parameters in accordance with approved requirements, product readiness, security controls, and implementation standards.
Plan, execute, and document end-to-end functional validation for ticketing, payment, and related customer workflows. Resolve readiness gaps and production blockers before activation, and provide clear implementation evidence, customer guidance, and operational handover.
Perform targeted data monitoring, validation, and operational controls as a supporting activity to confirm configuration quality, detect anomalies or emerging issues, and protect service continuity. Investigate findings, apply corrections, or coordinate escalation and follow-up.
Provide responsive implementation and hyper-care support by diagnosing product-usage or configuration issues, coordinating resolution across teams, communicating status and risks, and preventing recurrence through documented lessons, controls, and knowledge sharing.
Build implementation automation capability by identifying repetitive, manual, or error-prone activities; defining use cases and requirements; and contributing to the design, testing, governance, and adoption of automation, GenAI, and quality-assurance solutions with appropriate human oversight.
About the ideal candidate:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Travel & Tourism, or a related field.
Experience in customer or product implementation, product configuration, activation, functional testing, customer onboarding, or production support. Experience with travel-distribution, ticketing, or payment solutions is strongly preferred.
Good understanding of customer implementation lifecycles, travel-agency workflows, product activation and configuration, service readiness, SLA commitments, change or release processes, and operational excellence.
Skills:
Strong functional configuration and troubleshooting skills; end-to-end testing and validation; requirements and process documentation; implementation tracking and incident-management tools; Excel or similar tools for operational checks and monitoring; and practical awareness of automation, GenAI, and quality-assurance solutions.
English — professional working proficiency; able to explain functional and technical topics clearly to customers and global teams.
Ticketing and payment product functionality, customer and office setup, product activation, configuration dependencies, referential elements, market-specific requirements, implementation controls, migration or go-live support, and post-implementation hyper-care.
Customer-focused and detail-oriented, with structured problem solving, ownership, clear communication, collaboration across functions and cultures, ability to manage priorities and deadlines, and a continuous-improvement mindset that embraces automation and AI-enabled ways of working.
