Business Analyst (9-month FTC)

The Role:
The Business Analyst will support the UK Branch and Group delivery of a Single Risk transformation programme, working cross-functionally across underwriting, operations, finance, claims, actuarial and technology teams to define as-is/to-be business processes, business requirements and input into future operating models.
The successful candidate will act as the lead BA to elicit and translate business needs into actionable requirements supporting process redesign, data migration, systems integration and change adoption activities that deliver measurable business value.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide business analysis expertise to support the delivery of the UK Branch Single Risk project by:
- Act as the key business analysis interface between the project and the business teams to define functional and non-functional requirements for Actuarial, Reinsurance Operations, Underwriting, Claims and Finance.
- Facilitate future-state process design workshops and support business capability assessments and gap analysis to support the implementation of Single Risk capabilities.
- Support systems integration design and data migration activities by collaborating with data and technical teams.
- Analyse end-to-end Single Risk processes.
- Document claim, product, risk and policy lifecycle requirements.
- Support definition of project success criteria, success measures.
- Develop a strong understanding of the UK Branch’s key treaties and wider UK reinsurance products and structures.
- Support business teams in the replacement of legacy systems with new tools and technologies to deliver greater process efficiency and stronger integration with Group standards.
- Build effective and sustainable relationships across the Branch and with Group to strengthen cross-departmental and project/programme working and collaboration.
Technical Skills:
- Experience of leading on Business Analysis activities throughout the project lifecycle, from eliciting user requirements to accurately capture user needs to the implementation of successful solutions and services.
- A solid understanding of Single Risk business processes from client data ingestion through to administration, management and reporting.
- Experience of mapping out ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ landscape and undertaking gap analysis for legacy system replacement.
- Experience of working with both agile and waterfall delivery methods is desirable.
- Knowledge of relevant database technologies, programming languages, data visualisation, and reporting systems.
About You:
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology, computer science or business studies, or related field.
- BCS Business Analysis diploma desirable.
Experience:
- Solid insurance, and more specifically, reinsurance knowledge and experience.
- High proficiency in technical writing.
