Introduction of the job

As the System Electrical Domain Architect in San Jose, you define and steer system-level, domain-specific architectural direction and act as the decisive authority when domain performance, risk, and interface conflicts arise between sub-systems. You lead system-level domain architecture topics (e.g., dedicated architecture sessions) and apply deep, up-to-date expertise in your domain while maintaining a system-wide overview across functions and modules. You translate abstract requirements into executable architecture that balances business context, domain considerations, and system requirements, ensuring a multi-domain balanced solution across relevant business drivers. In doing so, you lead technical teams, align and convince diverse stakeholders, and clearly communicate complex technical topics within ASML processes and domain-specific ways of working (WoW).

You define the scope and work breakdown for the domain architecture of a single product or multiple products within a small set of MDUs (<10) or a small NPI (typically <100 FTE) and drive the domain vision for the product(s) you own. You align across Foundation Heads of Domain, System Engineering, and the MDUs in scope, balancing domain aspects across all relevant modules to ensure overall product performance. You take an initiating role in innovations within your domain and translate customer questions related to your domain into clear, actionable architectural direction within the product.

Responsibilities

In this role, you are responsible for end-to-end system domain architectural accountability by ensuring full lifecycle compliance to domain requirements and standards, delivering an optimized and balanced multi-domain architecture decomposed into sub-systems, and safeguarding architectural coherence, robust boundary conditions, domain performance, and domain interfaces across sub-systems within the product(s).
