Overall Objectives of Job:

A demanding DevOps Engineer role within Allianz Technology engagements, involving the design, build and operation of CI/CD pipelines and automation across application delivery platforms supporting AGCS OE projects.

This role offers the opportunity to own end to end delivery pipelines - from source control through build, test and deployment using ADP toolchain - Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus , while also contributing to IBM i application support and reporting dashboard development, SIM and JIRA automation, API management (Apigee), Kubernetes secrets management and platform automation for IBM i application environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Design, build and maintain end to end CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub , Nexus, GitHub Actions, ADP Toolchain) for IBM i application builds, deployments and releases.

- Understand the technical environment, platforms and their relevant infrastructure as well as other intricate dependencies of the project.

- Identify the key stakeholders in the project, establish and maintain excellent working relationship with them throughout the project.

- Use efficient methods, tools and techniques to elicit and capture customer requirements and document them.

- Convert the customer requirements into effective IT solutions within the context of the business, operational and environment following any organisational standards, guidelines or other assets.

- Actively participate in the evolution of tools, policies, processes, procedures and audits to improve the overall efficiency of the tasks and to help realise the company’s objective of operating a mature ITIL framework.

- Understand, own, document and execute the technical processes of the system administration and application/software release deployments for various infrastructure components of the supported customer applications.

- Lead the administration of housekeeping / maintenance tasks as well as processes designed to ensure effective use of server resources relevant to customer applications.

- Own existing auditing processes, work to resolve issues highlighted by these audits and escalate problems where necessary.

- Contribute effectively towards ongoing incident resolution in a manner that reduces future incident occurrence wherever possible (solve a problem once and for ever).

- Mentor and lead the team members so that efficient and optimised implementation of the proposed support solution is achieved.

- Properly assess the technical issues, risks and concerns and escalate them to project manager.

- Properly update the progress of the project to the project manager.

- Understand and participate in owning, maintaining and extending the prevailing architecture.

- Ensure implementing the requirements and controls of the relevant ISO standards within the respective team.

- Identify and mitigate the Information Security risks relevant to their areas, design and implement appropriate controls effectively.

ISMS

- All Allianz Technology employees are expected to adhere to the Information Security policies day in and day out.

- Report any ISMS events / incidents as per the reporting procedures.

- Should be aware of all ISMS principles and guidelines.

Qualification, Experience, Technical and Functional Skills

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum 6 years of relevant industry experience, including hands on DevOps CI/CD Tools ; exposure to IBM i platforms is an advantage.

Functional:

Strong Analytical, Logical and Communication Skills (written, oral, one to one, presentation, negotiation, influencing, assertive) and collaboration skills to enable effective liaison with others as necessary to achieve objectives.

Technical:

Strong hands on experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins (Configuration, Groovy/Shell scripting), Nexus, SonarQube, GitHub.
Experience with basic Kubernetes administration and secrets management.
Development skills including SQL (procedures/functions), DB2 for i database administration, IBM i programming languages (RPGLE, CLLE, DDS), Service Programs, and scripting for SIM Integration and JIRA automation (Shell, Groovy, Python) , Code unit testing.
Knowledge of IBM i architecture, including IBM i Apache Web Server configuration, IBM i Web Services (SOAP/REST), JSON/XML handling .
Experience building or maintaining dashboards (using Django, SVG based reporting) for operational or data metrics reporting, Python Django development experience is desirable.
Knowledge of Apigee (OPDK and Hybrid) API management and GitHub Actions CI/CD to deploy proxies.
Awareness of SDLC process flow, ITIL, SAFe Agile and DevSecOps best practices.
Good command of Visual Studio Code IDE , familiarity with Microsoft Office suite , Confluence, JIRA and ServiceNow (SNOW).
Knowledge of Genius Application, Gen AI tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) is desirable.

Good to have :

Having a basic understanding or exposure to AI tools would be a plus.
Familiarity with basic AI tools is considered an advantage.
Basic knowledge or experience with AI tools will be beneficial.
Exposure to AI tools, even at a basic level, is a value-add.
A fundamental grasp of AI tools will be an added benefit.
