Job Description

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

You will be a key contributor driving the delivery of resilient, scalable, and high-quality software solutions that underpin critical KYC/AML and institutional client onboarding processes.

Working closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, QA, and Product teams, you will help deliver robust microservice-based applications through agile delivery models. You will collaborate to understand business requirements, translate them into well-engineered solutions, and interface with integration and platform teams to ensure seamless end-to-end system behaviour.

Leading the ongoing drive to modernise legacy systems and introduce cloud-native capabilities, you will champion clean code practices, design patterns, and a continuous-improvement mindset, ensuring that engineering quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle. Ensuring compliance with security standards, risk controls, and architectural governance will be a key responsibility.

To be successful as a Software Engineer - Full Stack, you should have experience with:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java-based backend services using Core Java concepts including Collections, Multi-Threading and Concurrency, Exception Handling, and JVM internals.
• Build and deliver production-grade Spring Boot applications; leverage Spring Batch for batch processing pipelines and Spring Integration for enterprise messaging and integration flows.
• Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles to produce clean, testable, and maintainable code across all layers of the application.
• Write and optimise SQL queries; design and manage relational database schemas and work with ORM frameworks in a transactional environment.
• Architect, implement, and consume RESTful Web Services within a Microservice Architecture; apply appropriate Design Patterns (e.g. Circuit Breaker, Saga, CQRS, Repository) to solve integration and scalability challenges.

Some of Highly Valued Skills may include:

• Candidates with experience in Institutional KYC / AML or Client Data Management domain preferred.
• Front-end development skills in Angular, React, or VueJS with proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript / TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of AWS Cloud fundamentals (EC2, S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS, IAM).
• Experience with Camunda BPM for workflow and process automation.
• Microservices deployment on containerised platforms (Docker, Kubernetes / ECS).
• CI/CD toolchain experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Maven/Gradle).
• Awareness of API gateway patterns and service mesh architectures.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures using Kafka or equivalent message brokers.
