Specialist Assistant Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis

Looking to enhance your leadership and project management skills? As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating and managing financial projects, guiding team members, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of deliverables. You will collaborate with global stakeholders, drive process improvements, and contribute to the development of best practices within the finance function.

Work you’ll do

Service delivery

·                Business acumen: Manages the complete budgeting and forecasting process for assigned profit centers, leveraging advanced analytical and quantitative skills to conduct in-depth variance and driver analyses that provide actionable insights to leadership. Oversee month-end and year-end activities, including identifying reclasses and accruals to ensure financials are accurate and completed on time.

·                Reporting and automation: Creates, automates, and maintains executive dashboards, presentations, and recurring reports using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI/Tableau, VBA, and macros.

·                Financial modeling and analysis: Designs and refines complex financial models and conduct ad-hoc analyses to support strategic decision-making and scenario planning.

·                Project and process management: Leads small to medium projects and continuous enhancement initiatives, aligning efforts with business priorities, optimizing resources, and driving process efficiency to achieve desired outcomes within set timelines.

·                Prioritization and accuracy: Manages several time-sensitive priorities, applying rigorous analytical and research skills to ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all deliverables.

·                Team leadership: Delegate roles and responsibilities to Analysts and Senior Analysts, leveraging the strengths of team members while providing guidance and support, empowering team members, overseeing and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining accountability.

·                Quality and risk management: Ensures adherence to quality and risk standards, monitoring team processes and driving improvements to enhance capabilities, system knowledge, and service levels.

·                Stakeholder engagement: Provides timely, data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders, independently resolving queries and cultivating strong client relationships. Builds strong relationships across the organization, developing stakeholder management and influencing skills.

·                Business continuity: Ensure business continuity by being a backup for the Deputy Manager, Team Lead, or Controller for seamless finance operations.

·                Conflict management: Learn techniques for handling conflicts within the team, mediating disputes, and promoting constructive dialogue to achieve resolutions that benefit everyone involved. 

·                Individual development: Cultivate a professional network within the organization i.e. Global Finance / USI global, represent GF in various forums, contribute to larger global programs / initiatives through volunteering; embrace a growth mindset and actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge and skills through training, workshops, and self-study.

·                People development: Clearly communicate goals, expectations, and feedback; provide guidance and support to team members, actively participate in their professional development; conduct regular check-ins with team members, address issues, provide regular feedback and progress to the team / business leaders; acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of team members and cultivate a culture of encouragement and recognition.
