ResponsibilitiesExperience8–10 YearsLocationBangaloreRole SummaryWe are looking for a highly experienced Senior DataStage Administrator with strong development background who can independently handle application performance issues as well as environment-related problems. The role requires deep expertise in IBM InfoSphere DataStage administration, ETL performance tuning, and infrastructure coordination, along with strong troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.Key ResponsibilitiesDataStage Administration & Platform SupportPerform end-to-end DataStage administration activities including:Project creation, user and role managementImport/export of projectsDataset and metadata managementDatabase connectivity (ODBC/JDBC) configurationManage backup and disaster recovery (DR) processes for DataStage environments.Perform platform monitoring, health checks, and maintenance activities including:Releasing locked jobsStop/start of DataStage servicesCapacity monitoring and tuningMonitor platform availability and ensure 24x7 system stability, responding promptly to component failures.Performance & Issue ManagementIndependently handle DataStage job-level and application-related performance issues.Analyze CPU, memory, I/O, and cluster-level utilization to identify environment bottlenecks.Engage in ETL performance tuning and optimization of DataStage jobs.Troubleshoot and resolve environment-related issues in coordination with:UNIX/Linux/AIX administratorsDatabase administrators (Oracle, DB2, etc.)Handle P1/P2 incidents, including engagement with IBM via PMRs for critical issue resolution and product enhancements.Development & Best PracticesProvide hands-on DataStage development support when needed, ensuring:ETL design adheres to standards and best practicesOptimal use of parallelism, partitioning, and stagesSupport development teams in ETL design, debugging, and deployment activities.Ensure ETL solutions align with data warehousing concepts and architecture.Integration, Automation & SecurityExperience with Snowflake connectivity, JDBC driver installation, and client setup.Work with workload automation and scheduling tools such as:BMC Control-MCrontabPerform and track vulnerability remediation activities related to IBM InfoSphere DataStage.Strong understanding of server management, cluster environments, and infrastructure controls.ITIL, Documentation & CommunicationApply ITIL processes with strong focus on:Incident managementProblem managementChange managementDocument production issues, root cause analysis, and resolutions for knowledge reuse.Communicate effectively with end users, application teams, and business stakeholders.Provide regular status updates on assigned activities and initiatives.Continuously evaluate processes and propose improvement opportunities.Profile requiredTechnical Skills (Must Have)IBM InfoSphere DataStage (Administration & Development)ETL performance tuning and troubleshootingUNIX/Linux/AIX environmentDatabase connectivity (ODBC/JDBC)Shell scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell preferred)Scheduling tools (BMC Control-M, crontab)Basic understanding of cloud/warehouse platforms (Snowflake preferred)SQL (knowledge in writing query and debug)Personal & Professional AttributesStrong ownership and ability to work independentlyHigh adaptability and availability during critical incidentsAnalytical mindset with strong problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and documentation abilitiesCustomer-focused and collaborative team playerQuick learner with the ability to assimilate complex technical environmentsNice to HaveExperience in banking or financial services environmentsExposure to large-scale enterprise DataStage landscapesKnowledge of security and compliance requirementsWhy join usWe are committed to creating a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
